Professor Leith Morton introduces and discusses his new book: “The Writing of Disaster: Literary Representations of War, Trauma and Earthquakes in Modern Japan”, published as No. 7 of the “New Poetry: Intercultural and Interdisciplinary Studies” series. Included in the talk, Prof. Morton reveals and displays many of the original Japanese sources (literary magazines, novels, poetry collections) on screen that he used in his research. The book is a result of Morton’s research fellowship at the DFG Centre for Advanced Studies “Russian-Language Poetry in Transition” (FOR 2603).
